Most people know that diabetes is a disease that affects the way your body metabolizes sugar and other carbohydrates. This fasting blood sugar will let your doctors know whether it is possible that you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, and whether you need to be treated with medications or insulin for either of these diseases.
